Connecting as Leaders
Thrive leaders will connect on a regular basis in person to share their lives and testimonies, communicate needs, share resources and insights, and build genuine friendships with one another. Our leaders will also share resources developed in their churches that can be used fruitfully by other churches in the network.
Thrive will make a substantial investment in raising up new leaders and strengthening current leaders in each member church. Whenever possible we will collaborate on leadership development in order to leverage our collective strength. We will also train emerging ministers together through the School of Ministry’s Vocational Ministry and Church Planting tracks.
Partnering in Outreach
In addition to the outreach work being done by each member church, Thrive will sponsor outreach initiatives (locally and abroad) that can bring people and resources together from across the network. Each member church will also invite individuals from other member churches to participate in any outreach ministry it is doing.
Thrive will expand primarily through the work of planting new churches under the leadership of church planters and teams trained by the network. We will do whatever we can to equip our church planters with the resources, guidance, and support they need for their new churches to thrive. If the opportunity arises Thrive may also engage a struggling church with the goal of “replanting” or revitalizing it. In rare cases Thrive will invite an outside church to join our network.
We affirm the deep bonds that tie churches to one another under the banner of Christ’s kingdom. Thrive will organize special events designed to build a growing sense of unity among churches in the network. We will also encourage our leaders and members to engage non-network churches in a posture of humility, regarding them as our partners and not our competitors.
